How does studying the Bible help me?
The Bible is not just any book. Reading His Word is like medicine to the Soul. We need the Power of His Word planted in us to mature and glorify God. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, right dividing the Word of Truth.” Just taking a verse at a time and studying the real meaning of the verse along with the context that it is written in. Looking up some words in the dictionary helps to break it down for easier understanding.
Interpreting the Bible literally as it is written is important as adding or exaggerating what we think it may mean takes away from the real meaning. Make notes and memorize verses. Ask God to share the secrets in His Word and it will really come to life and full meaning for you.

Final Thoughts
Knowing and studying God’s Word to help us walk a strong and healthy walk with the Lord is so important. We must have His Word in us so that we will know what is truth and what is false. So much false teaching is prevalent even in our churches that it must line up with what the Bible says.
I can attest to this as my father was a minister and often said things at home and church that absolutely did not line up with the Word of God. Standing up against false teaching and speaking the truth will not only strengthen our resolve in the Word, but it may help others who are willing to see the truth in the Word.
